Day & Night Blinds
Alternating sheer and solid bands on one continuous loop — align them for filtered light and a kept view, offset them for near-solid privacy, without ever raising the whole blind.
One product, two moods
Day and night — sometimes called zebra — blinds run alternating sheer and solid horizontal bands on a single continuous loop. Slide the bands into alignment for softened, filtered light with the garden or bay still visible through the sheer strip; slide them out of alignment and the solid bands overlap for near-total coverage. It's the same mechanism, no second blind, tuned hour by hour as the light changes.
Where it fits an open-plan Sunningdale home
Most new-build Sunningdale lounges and dining rooms are open to the kitchen, with sightlines that change all day — bright and open for entertaining, screened off once the evening crowd wants a bit more privacy from the street or the neighbours. A day and night blind handles both moods from the same window without the household needing to decide up front which one they want.
Honest limits
Even fully offset, a day and night blind isn't true blockout — light still seeps at the band edges, so a bedroom that needs real dark is better served by a blockout roller or a cellular blind. The sheer bands are also more delicate than a solid roller fabric around small hands, and the fabric is moisture-sensitive, so bathrooms are better specified with an aluminium venetian instead.
The honest trade-off. It's the best privacy-with-light option we fit, not the darkest one — for a nap-time bedroom, pair it with a blockout roller or choose cellular blinds instead.
